One of the qualifications for appointment as a notary in Malta is a traineeship at the office of a notary for a continuous period of not less than two years before the warrant exam. As Notary Ethan Brincat has not practised his profession for at least ten years, he is unable to offer an official traineeship. Where the owner of a grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery in Paola intends to transfer it to third parties, the notary must obtain the prior approval of the Superintendent of Public Health. The Superintendent may request a declaration that the transferee, or their family, do not already own a grave or grave site within the same cemetery.

This office will be limiting the publication of deeds of redemption of ground-rent. Such service shall be provided on a case-by-case basis.
